Crochet Lace Collar now with Tutorial

Sometime ago I found this Fancy Crochet Lace Collar tutorial from The Ongoing Project. Got a lot of requests for a tutorial especially when Shay closed The Ongoing Project for invited members only.

So now it took sometime to create a tute but due to my extremely hectic schedule (solo Mom, Secretary by day and Virtual Assistant by night, whew!) I only come up with a written pattern and no photos...sorry :(

Anyway, here it is and hope you enjoy making your own version!

Sk = skipch = chainsc = single chaindc = double chain Ch 68 row 1: Sk 1 ch, sc in next ch and across, ch 3, turnrow 2: *Sk 1 sc, 2 dc in next sc, sk next sc, 1 dc in next sc, continue from * across, ch 3 turnrow 3: *2 dc, ch1, 2 dc in space between 2 dc, dc in next dc, continue from * across, ch 3 turnrow 4: *3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch space, dc in next dc, continue from * across, ch 3 turnrow 5: *4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc in ch space, dc in next dc, continue from * across - do not turn at the end of row 5, don't turn, sc down narrow edge of collar, 3 sc in corner, and sc across inner edge of collar to opposite corner, 3 sc in corner, sc down narrow edge and sl st into first dc. Break off and weave in ends.

Shay's pattern started out by chaining 68 but since my neck was a little larger I had to adjust it by adding a multiple of 6 (4 plus 2) stitches until it snugly fit my neck like a choker.

I also added loops on both ends of the collar where to insert the satin ribbon. The loops were just made up on 5 sc each. The faux pearls where sewn on later on the edge of each pointed scallop.
