New Items Available in Our Store

Barefoot Sandals in Orange Gerbera with detachable flower

Holiday? What holiday?

Well, that's how I felt when I saw it was already the last day of the year and for the first time in my life I was swamped with oDesk work and crochet projects instead of panicking with Christmas shopping for other people. It sounds selfish but it's the best gift I could give to someone who spends the rest of the year taking care of others :) Try it...it's liberating!

Anyway, I also got my sister hooked on crocheting all over again and she made these fabulous crochet bracelets:

Wear 'em stacked!
Here's the detail shot of the Barefoot Sandal in Orange Gerbera (the one on top of this post) and another shot without the detachable flower:

Here are more of my sister's bracelets:

Busy, Busy, Busy Crocheting!

Whew, haven't blogged for awhile. I thought working at home full-time would leave me more time to blog but it feels like I'm more swamped now than when I was at corporate! Working for myself, I never thought I'd be a very demanding boss :D

Anyway, I've been busy as a bee with three clients at oDesk, putting up a Facebook page for my other popular blog Pinay Single Mom (like it please!), continuing to serve in our Catholic community at the Makati Feast and of course crocheting!

I'm happy my sister Cha, who is the other half of millicentmelissa Handmade Accessories, is busy with crocheting again after quite some time. She's been creating these beautiful crochet trimmed diapers which was actually got me started crocheting three years ago when I made these for her newborn son Asti:

Still working on the crochet bracelets for the girls of my swap meet at our Facebook group Philippine Crafters Association. Here's one I finished using crochet broomstick lace also known as jiffy lace (click on the link for the pattern):

Cha also asked me to create crochet baby booties to pair up with her crochet trimmed diapers and here's one of my first studies:

Now to work on the straps...

For Amara

Whew, haven't blogged in awhile! Had to take a hiatus from crocheting and blogging to organize our household. Had to get rid of bulky furniture and everything old and useless (and that included our lazy maid!) so now Marti and I happily run our own home without any worries!

So now that we're getting used to our new routines and everything else is settling down, I started with a few projects in time for Christmas, the first of which is a 3-set accessory for the daughter of my CG mate Aby whose name is as pretty as she is: Amara.

As the set was inspired by Amara, I'm naming these accessories after her:

Amara Necklace:
Floral Medallion with Gold Ribbon Necklace

Sunburst Medallion for Amara's necklace

Amara Cuff

Really hope she liked it!

Project: 3 Buttercup Bracelets for my Nieces

Getting hooked on my latest book, Crochet Adorned, I made some cute bracelets for my nieces whom I haven't seen for so many years. I gave their bracelets when we had a family reunion last All Saints' Day at Heritage Park and they were ecstatic!

Here's a picture of the bracelets below. I'd probably ask Mika to send me photos of the bracelets as worn...
